MEEE
A long, long, long time ago when mars bars were proper bars of chocolate and not like grown up milky ways, when people could slap kids if they got out of line and not worry about being sued, when you had to get off your bum to switch the telly over, when ..well you get the picture - I was born.
Not much really happened for a while..I cried, wet/pooed myself, fell over, (come to think of it I still do these things now) and dreamt of becoming a stuntman. I've even managed to dig up an old photo of what turned out to be a successful but painful attempt to jump the fabled 'kerb of death' (see pic right). It was painful as just out of picture was a milk float travelling at some speed, which I'd neglected to notice.
I still harboured the same dream as I grew older but unfortunately careers advice wasn't what it is today, where you're encouraged to follow your dreams..in those days a stuntman wasn't deemed a plausible enough career, so subsequently for many years I meandered aimlessly in the job jungle.
In retrospect I suppose it's thanks to these boring jobs that I started to doodle and a seed was sown...sprinkle on a bit of luck and after a while I got my first commission for Tetra Pak. A few more commissions followed with clients such as RSPB, my mum, Express Dairies, Alternative Energy Store, Quitting Hollywood and a few of my mates, finally leading to the creation of blacksoup.

Over the years my own style has developed, in fact you can see for yourself in the pictures to the right drawn over 30 years apart, how far I've come.
Hopefully this site will grow as I produce more work, I have loads of ideas but as usual never enough time...as presently I seem to be more preoccupied with daydreaming and constantly watching re-runs of award winning documentaries like 'When cops' pets go bad 5' on satellite tv.
I don't want to waffle on too much so I'll stop it right here, but if you haven't already checked out soup city go and do it...
